Grand Prize Rules for the Mercedes-Benz Oakville 10k – April 25, 2010:
  1. The competition is open to all participants of the Mercedes-Benz Oakville 10k (not other event distances).
  2. The Winner will be selected by means of random draw on April 25, 2010.  Each participant who officially completes the Mercedes-Benz 10k will automatically be entered once.
  3. Odds of winning will depend on the number of participants who officially complete the 10k.
  4. In order to claim the Prize, the selected recipient must be present at the time of announcement. In the case that the selected recipient is not available to accept the prize in person at the time of announcement, InField Marketing Group and/or Mercedes-Benz Oakville will have the right to select a new winner (whereupon the initial winner will be deemed to have forfeited any rights to the Prize) and award the Prize to such a recipient in the manner provided above.
  5. The Winner must be 25 years of age or older to qualify for the Prize.  If a name is drawn and the winner is under 25, the name will go back into the draw box and another name drawn.
  6. Competition is subject to all applicable Federal, Provincial and Municipal laws.
  7. One (1) prize will be awarded consisting of a 12-month lease of a new or low-mileage Mercedes-Benz B Class – specific details TBA ("Prize").  Prize is limited to 24,000 km mileage and is restricted from leaving Canada. Winner will be required to pay for mileage driven over 24,000 km at the MB Oakville contracted rate.  Approximate value of the prize is $6000.
  8. The Prize must be initiated no later than May 30, 2010 and upon acceptance, the Winner must sign a temporary loan agreement from Mercedes-Benz Oakville Autohaus and abide by its terms.
  9. In the case that the Winner wishes to use the prize value towards the purchase or lease of any other new Mercedes-Benz, this request must be made in writing to Mercedes-Benz Oakville no later than May 30, 2010.
  10. The prize has no cash value and cash will therefore not be offered in lieu of accepting the prize.
  11. If a winner does not comply with the competition requirements, or the official Event Rules, the Competition Sponsors and/or InField Marketing Group will have the right to select a new winner (whereupon the initial winner will be deemed to have forfeited any rights to the Prize) and award Prize to such a team in the manner provided above. The decisions of the competition judges will be final and binding on all entrants.
  12. Insurance, maintenance and fuel on the prize is the sole responsibility of the winner.  Winner must fulfill all insurance obligations as stipulated by Mercedes-Benz Oakville for the term of the lease and will be asked to provide proof of valid insurance and proof a valid driver's license in his/her name upon delivery of the vehicle.
  13. Vehicle registration and license plates are the sole responsibility of the winner.
  14. In order to claim the prize the winner must complete a credit application with Mercedes-Benz Oakville and have said application approved.
  15. The winner agrees to sign a release form releasing the Competition Sponsors from any and all liability, confirming compliance with competition rules and accepting prize as awarded in order to obtain the prize.
  16. The winner further agrees to permit the Competition Sponsors to use the winner’s name, address and photograph and/or video image in any publicity or advertising without compensation, and releasing the Competition Sponsors and their respective agents, officers, directors, employees and representatives from any and all liability, damages, costs, expenses and claims arising out of or relating to the Prize.
  17. Winner will be invited to hand over keys of car to winner of 2011 Mercedes 10k in April 2011.

Walking & Powerwalking

Anyone entered in the walking division of our race MUST walk the entire course. One foot must be on the ground at all times. Excessive knee bend, head and body bobbing is indicative of a running gait. Race organizers reserve the right to move a participant from the walking division to the running division should it be deemed that the participant was running or jogging any part of the course.
