How are you making the event GREEN?

Answer

We want to do our part to make the Mercedes-Benz 10k as GREEN as possible. The following efforts will be made:

1. On-line registration only (except for race day)

2. On-site recycling stations (and, waste collection services) provided by EMTERRA Environmental (www.emterra.ca)

3. Surplus/unused food will be donated to ReFresh Foods (www.refreshfoods.ca)

4. On-site bike racks available to encourage participants to cycle to the event.

5. Reusable race-kit bags for 10k participants (no plastic bags)

6. Lead cyclists from the Oakville Cycling Club (www.oakvillecc.com)

FYI...

ReFresh Foods is a food logistics redistribution program for Halton Region. They collect surplus perishable and non-perishable food products for redistribution to local food banks and social service agencies. ReFresh Foods is a Halton collaboration led by Food for Life Canada.
